# Scrubs, DNC & Blocked Numbers in Mav.next

> Keep low-quality and high-risk leads out of Mav.next with suppression-list scrubbing (DNC, Blacklist Alliance), blocked numbers, and blocked sources.

The best way to stay compliant and protect your numbers is to never message a risky lead in the first place. Mav.next screens every outbound lead before an agent reaches out.

## Suppression-list scrubbing

Incoming leads can be automatically checked against industry suppression lists and rejected if they match:

* **DNC.com** — Do-Not-Call suppression.
* **Blacklist Alliance** — litigator and high-risk number suppression.

Leads that hit a list are filtered out before any message is sent, and recorded so you can see what was screened.

## Blocked numbers

Maintain an account-level list of phone numbers Mav should never contact. Manage it under [Settings → Filters](/mav-next/account-and-transfer-hours). Any lead matching a blocked number is filtered out.

## Blocked sources

You can also block specific lead vendors or sources from submitting leads to your account — useful when a [marketing source](/mav-next/marketing-sources) is sending poor-quality or non-consented leads.

## Validation before outreach

Beyond suppression, Mav also confirms each contact has a valid, reachable mobile number and the required SMS consent before the agent's first message. Leads that fail validation are filtered rather than messaged.

<Note>
  Filtering happens automatically as part of every outbound lead's journey — see [How Mav.next works](/mav-next/how-mav-works). Scrubbing applies to outbound outreach; a contact who calls you first is handled as an inbound conversation.
