# Marketing Sources: Connect Lead Vendors to Mav.next

> Connect your lead vendors and web forms to Mav.next with a marketing source — get a dedicated submission URL, route leads to the right agent, and verify delivery.

A **marketing source** is how leads get into Mav.next from the outside world — a lead vendor, an aggregator, or your own web form. Each source has a dedicated submission URL, so every lead arrives already tagged with where it came from and routed to the agent that should work it.

This is the primary way to integrate an external system with Mav.next.

## How it works

<Steps>
  <Step title="Create a marketing source">
    In **Lead Sources**, add a source. Pick a **featured** provider (a vendor Mav already knows how to parse) or create a **custom** source for your own form or an unlisted vendor.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Get your submission URL">
    Each source has a unique URL that identifies your account and that specific source. You give this URL to your vendor or wire it into your web form's submission.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Assign an agent">
    Choose which [agent](/mav-next/agents-overview) should work leads from this source. New leads automatically start a conversation with that agent.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Send a lead">
    Your vendor posts lead data — name, phone, email, and any extra context — to the URL. Mav creates the contact, applies your [compliance checks](/mav-next/scrubs-dnc-blocked-numbers), and the agent reaches out.
  </Step>
</Steps>

## What a source sends

At minimum, a lead submission should include the contact's **name** and **phone number**; **email** and any additional details (like vehicle or address info) help the agent qualify faster. Because consent is required, include your proof-of-consent details (such as a TCPA opt-in token and the URL where consent was captured) with each lead.

<Note>
  Mav.next accepts lead submissions in standard web formats. Your Mav contact can provide the exact field reference for your provider or custom form when you set the source up.
</Note>

## Verifying delivery

Every submission to a source is logged. Use the **webhook logs** for a source to confirm leads are arriving, inspect exactly what was sent, and troubleshoot a vendor's payload if something looks off.

<Tip>
  Send one test lead from your vendor and watch it appear in the webhook log and then as a new [contact](/mav-next/contacts-overview). That round-trip confirms the integration end to end.
</Tip>

## Tagging and attribution

Because every lead is tagged with its source, you can measure which vendors and campaigns actually produce qualified, converting leads — pair this with [agent metrics](/mav-next/agent-metrics) and the [conversion filter](/mav-next/filtering-contacts).

## Blocking a bad source

If a source starts sending poor-quality or non-consented leads, you can block it so its submissions are rejected. See [Scrubs & blocking](/mav-next/scrubs-dnc-blocked-numbers).
